A Message from SLPSB: Due to the anticipated severe weather conditions, St. Landry Parish schools, head starts, and administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, March 30, 2022. This closure will include any after school activities. Regular school hours are expected to resume on Thursday, March 31st. The decision to have a total system closure was based on advice from the Office of Emergency Preparedness and for safety concerns expressed by the SLPSB Transportation Manager. The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority. Stay safe!
GPE Parents: We are raffling off an Easter/Spring basket filled with fun spring toys, candies, etc.! Tickets were sent home with students yesterday. They can be purchased for .50 each or 3 for $1. You can also purchase the whole sheet of 18 tickets for only $5! Please send money with the completed raffle tickets to your child's teacher. Happy Spring!
GPE parents: Report cards for the 3rd 9-week period will go home on Wednesday, March 30th. We will host a parent/teacher night on Thursday, March 31st from 4:00-6:00 in classrooms. Please review your child's report card and plan to meet with their teacher(s) with any concerns. Thank you!
The St. Landry Parish School Board will host CAMP ACCELERATE for all students in grades K - 8! CAMP ACCELERATE will provide students an opportunity to continue their academic learning in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science while also engaging them in enrichment activities. The enrichment opportunities will enable students to take virtual field trips, learn more about science and technology, engage in social living projects, play sports, and develop an appreciation for art, theater, music, and more. Students will attend CAMP ACCELERATE from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday beginning June 6th and continuing through June 30th. New this Year ! We are exploring the possibility of offering field trips to students on select Fridays. Students will be offered transportation to and from the program, and lunch will be provided. GPE Parents:
PRE-K REGISTRATION - Beginning Monday, March 28th, you may come by the office to pick up Pre-K registration packets and sign up for a testing date/time. Your child must be 4 years old by September 30th, 2022.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - Beginning Monday, March 28th, you may come by the office to pick up a Kindergarten registration packet. Current GPE Pre-K students do not need to re-register. Only students who will be new to GPE need to register for Kindergarten. Your child must be 5 years old by September 30th, 2022.

GPE parents: Our Book Blast adventure has begun! We are on a treasure hunt! The first step in this adventure is for your student (and you) to take ten minutes and register for our Book Blast event.
After registering yourself, you will invite ten or more friends and family to support your child’s home libraries and help their classmates build their libraries.
Next, please sign the treasure map, and send it back tomorrow.
When they give their completed signed treasure map with completed registration to their teacher, your child will receive their cool prizes tomorrow. They will also be entered into a drawing to win a treasure chest stuffed full of cash and prizes!
